Croton

Lighting Requirements
Your Croton Magnificent will thrive in a spot with bright light – ideally, it needs at least 4-6 hours per day to help it produce its colorful foliage.

Watering Needs
Water your plant well when the soil begins to dry out, water should be flowing freely out of the bottom of the container at the end of the watering session. Crotons do not require as much water as other indoor plants but if their needs are not me they will start dropping leaves. Make sure not to overwater the plant either as this can lead to the leaves wilting.

Humidity
Your Croton likes high humidity. Increase humidity by misting the plant, placing a humidifier in the vicinity or using a pebble tray. Placing it in a bathroom or kitchen can also help as these areas tend to be more humid.

Temperature Preferences
They do best between 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep it away from drafts and cross-winds, and cold areas in the winter (like windows, open doorways etc.)

Fertilizer
A general houseplant fertilizer used once in early spring, early summer and mid-summer each. The plant does not need to be fertilized in fall or winter.

Pet-Friendly
No, the Croton is considered to be moderately toxic and can cause irritation in the stomach and mouth and potential vomiting if consumed.
