Description
Originating from tropical regions like Costa Rica, Brazil, the West Indies and others, Dieffenbachias are low-maintenance houseplants that can thrive in a variety of conditions. The Compacta variety is on the smaller side as compared to regular plants, usually reaching between 50-100 cm. They enjoy warm temperatures ranging between 60 to 75° F. The soil should not be overly wet as stem rot is often a problem for these plants. With these characteristics, Compactas are ideal for small spaces in the home or office.
Tips
Like other Dieffenbachia, the Compacta variety does not like having "wet feet". Avoid leaving standing water and use a well-draining soil to prevent root rot. Learn More
